oh lyn, what can I say. I hope the appointment gives some answers, though it must be very frustrating that the balancing act that is ra control has led you to this point.

Thank you Eve and Amanda; and Jean I take it you are just 'blanking' me! Preferable to being sent to Coventry, I guess, where taxi fares appear to be astronomical, from recent experience!! LOL Sense of humour still hanging on by a thread ... just!

Took your advice Amanda and downed a bottle of strong lager (didn't bother with the glass!) at bedtime (assume it was strong ... that's all Mike buys!). Four and a half hours good sleep so really wonderful ThumpUp

Things went well at the hospital and today there is some improvement thankfully, whoopee! Whilst I am up early today, as I say I did manage some decent sleep so that's pretty good considering the additional steroid floating about my system! Thought it wise to get up and get on at 5.30am instead of laying there thinking about the day ahead. I can always sleep again later!

Both knees were aspirated and depo-medrone injected so feeling much less swollen. Took a 'water' tablet to help release the build up of fluid in my right leg and that seems to have helped. The consultant is hoping that, now the fluid has gone, the steroid will repair the rupture in the synovium and surgery can be avoided. Positivity is the order of the day :) Once things are settled I could do to cut down the Naproxen and Prednisolone and try and get back to where I was in December 2009 before things started to go so wrong!

After breakfast off to get blood pressure checked which is now sky high (any wonder?!); if its not one thing its something else ... oh, don't get me started!! 'Kidults' ... eek Scared !!

Thanks again everyone for your concerns, I so appreciate your friendship and support.

Lyn xx

Oh Lyn,

I am so sorry to hear you are having a terrible time. It never rains but it pours hey!

ThumbDown

I do love the tone of your threads though, you have an amazing ability to see the funny side of things! I wonder if it is possible to bottle that spirit?

Hi Lyn,

Good to hear you got steroid in your knees, hope it helps a lot.
My Bakers cysts have always sealed themselves after they've leaked so I hope yours does the same.

Lets hope you can get things back on an even keel now.
The big wedding tomorrow, we'll be setting sail soon so you need to get aboard the Ark Royal fast! Scared
Just don't bring the scissors! LOL

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Lyn,

Congrats on stealing hubby's beer- glad it aided sleep..

My nocturnal activities help me sleep too....

What a blessed relief it is to have both knees aspirated and then injected- I get so excited now when i know rheumy will do this! And he is SO professional..

RE the water pill- did you self prescribe this or was it given to you? Just wondering if I can get hold of them for my swellings....!

Love as ever,

Amanda
